Choose your player count, galaxy and rules options — with or without the Hope's End expansion — for exact setup steps, a rules reference with the official FAQ applied, and a searchable index of every rulebook. The imperial throne on Mecatol Rex has stood empty for more than three thousand years. Pax magnifica, bellum gloriosum.
The Galactic Council
Select the sets on the table, the player count, the galaxy and any rules options. Every step, ruling and script below adapts to your choices.
Sets in play
Players two to six; the rulebook says it plays best with 3, 4 or 6
Galaxy the Hope's End constellations need the expansion and are recommended for 6 players
Rules options optional; Shock Troops and Leaders need Hope's End
Setup
Follow the steps in order; each cites its source. The rulebook and the Hope's End sheet print no page numbers, so “Rules p.N” and “Hope's End p.N” count pages from the cover, with the rulebook's own section numbers (§). FAQ rulings are already applied.
Components
Every component the rulebooks list for the sets and options you've selected, with its count. Tap a picture to enlarge it. The Hope's End sheet lists its contents without pictures.
Rules Reference
Tap a heading to open it. Contents adapt to your sets, options and player count. The official FAQ overrides the rulebook; where two FAQ answers disagree, the newer one is applied and flagged.
Search the Rulebooks
Answers from this page come first, then every matching page of the rulebook, the official FAQ and — when selected — the Hope's End rules. The rulebook is a scan: its text was machine-read and repaired, so the odd word may be misspelled.
